But I did not want to paint the god himself. I wanted to paint the world I imagined around him.
A battlefield after the fight. The ground cracked open, the sky still burning, and a kind of silence settling over everything.
To me, Aries has always carried that same restless energy. The instinct to keep moving, keep fighting, keep giving everything, even when there is almost nothing left to give.
There is bravery in that, but also recklessness. Loyalty, anger, courage, and sometimes the tendency to fight battles within yourself that nobody else can see.
This painting is about that contradiction.
The warrior who survives the battle, but still has to survive himself.
