Over the past four years in Canada, Nilasha's work has grown alongside her life here. Her newest collection brings together 112 paintings created through years of experimenting, observing, learning, and finding her own visual language.

Moving between her roots in India and her experiences in Canada has shaped the way she sees and paints the world. Rather than choosing between the two, her work has gradually found a place somewhere in the middle, carrying pieces of both.

She is especially drawn to the ordinary: a cup of coffee, fruit on a table, flowers by a window, a familiar street, a quiet landscape, or a moment that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Painting is her way of holding onto these small parts of everyday life and giving them a little more attention.

This collection is, in many ways, a record of her time in Canada and of how she has changed through it. By sharing these works, she hopes that pieces of her journey can find homes around the world, while still leaving enough room for others to see their own memories and experiences within them.
