A lot of my memories from Canada are not tied to big places or events, but to smaller moments, going out for a drink, sitting somewhere warm while it is cold outside, or spending a slow evening with friends.

I painted this as a simple study of a cocktail, but it became part of that collection of everyday memories from my time here. The deep oranges, reds, and softer background colours remind me of those warm little moments that break up the long Vancouver winters.
