I painted this after one of those bakery visits where I went in just to look and somehow spent way too long staring at the dessert case. This chocolate cake with strawberries was the kind of thing that immediately caught my eye.
 
The whole little experience of choosing something, sitting down, and having a quiet treat in the middle of the day. I wanted to paint that exact feeling of seeing something in a bakery window and knowing you are probably going to order it.
