I painted this because banana pie is one of those desserts that feels comforting without trying too hard. I loved the mix of soft cream, banana slices, and the darker chocolate pieces on top.
Most of this painting was really about colour and texture for me. The warm yellows and browns against the blue background made the whole thing feel bright, cozy, and a little nostalgic.
It is basically just a painting of something I would very happily eat.
