Blackberry Season

Blackberries started to feel like such a Vancouver thing to me. In late summer, they seem to be everywhere, growing along trails, fences, and random corners of the city. 

I wanted this painting to hold onto that feeling, especially the berries and leaves still wet from the rain. It is one of those really ordinary parts of living here that I probably would not have thought much about before, but somehow became part of how I remember the city.
