I painted these cows because there was something so funny and endearing about the way they stood there, almost as if they had paused to study me just as much as I was studying them. What I loved most was their quiet presence. There is nothing dramatic happening in the scene, yet it feels full of personality.

This piece is really about those simple encounters in nature that stay with me for no obvious reason. The open field, the softness of the light, and the curious expression of the cows made the moment feel both peaceful and playful.
