This painting came from wanting to capture that warm, slightly hazy light right before the sun disappears. I kept the scene loose and colourful, with the little boat sitting quietly in the middle of all the greens and reflections.
I especially like painting landscapes like this because they remind me of places that feel familiar even when they are not based on one exact location. It was mostly a study in colour, light, and reflection, and letting the brushstrokes stay a little rough rather than making everything too precise.
