Vancouver definitely taught me to appreciate a warm drink on a cold, rainy day. Hot chocolate became one of those small treats I would get while studying, meeting friends, or taking a break between classes.
I wanted this painting to feel a little indulgent and fun, with the whipped cream, chocolate, and warm colours taking over the canvas. It is another small piece of my everyday life in Canada, rainy weather outside, something warm in your hands, and probably way too much whipped cream on top.
