This piece is about catching a bee just doing her thing, in motion, in her space, in her element. I started with a dramatic acrylic pour that almost felt like a storm or a field of motion in itself. The flow of the background took on its own energy, unpredictable, chaotic, but beautiful, and it made the perfect space to ground something intentional and still: the bee.
Painting her in oil brought structure and softness against all that colour and movement. The bold yellow, soft violets, and deep greens all push and pull against each other, almost like nature and noise having a conversation. Together, they make me feel alert, awake, and oddly calm, like watching something small but essential do exactly what it was meant to.
