Something Sweet

A lot of my time in Canada has involved finding little reasons to get dessert, birthdays, dinners with friends, café stops, or sometimes just bringing something sweet home because it looked too good to leave behind.

For this painting, I wanted to capture that feeling of an over-the-top chocolate cake with truffles, layers, dripping chocolate, and a glass of milk on the side. I kept the colours warm and soft so it still feels playful rather than too perfect.

It reminds me of those simple evenings where dessert somehow becomes the main event.
