Sunflowers on the Table

There is something about sunflowers that instantly feels like late summer. I wanted this one to have that warm, everyday feeling of bringing a bunch of flowers home and putting them in whatever jug is nearby.

The bright yellows against the blue vase felt especially fun to paint, and I kept the background loose so the flowers could feel full and a little messy rather than perfectly arranged. It reminds me of those sunny Vancouver days when having fresh flowers around the house just makes everything feel a little nicer.
