Some dogs have a happiness that feels almost contagious. The open mouth, bright eyes, messy fur and complete inability to hide their excitement make even an ordinary day feel a little lighter.

I wanted this piece to capture that uncomplicated kind of joy. The kind you find in being greeted like you have been gone for years, even when you only stepped out for ten minutes. The Happiest Face is a little reminder of how much warmth animals bring into our everyday lives, and how love can sometimes be as simple as someone being genuinely thrilled that you came home.
